Cooking Utensils
One of the things that have changed over the years and probably for the worse is cooking utensils. Cooking utensils use to me made strong and durable, but now are fairly flimsy and easy to break. This isn't something that when you are cooking that you want to happen. Kitchen cooking utensils have gone over many changes through the years and one of the ones is most cooking utensils are now made in china. Very few American companies make cooking utensils which may tell why the quality is so poor. Other changes on the cooking utensils industry is the design of these utensils. Companies are making better designs and less work for the person cooking. So, in that aspect the utensils have gotten better.
Cooking utensils have gotten away from metal which was real popular in the 50's and 60's. Today's cooking utensils are now made mostly of plastic which is something that when your cooking isn't something I like. Plastic utensils tend to bend and break alot easier than the metal ones did. Wooden spoon utensils were something else that people use to use alot, but those have seen a dramatic decrease in use to. Professional cooking utensils are by far the best you can get, but at a cost that many people don't like to spend.
In the future it looks like more and more cooking utensils are going to be made of plastic, because they are cheaper to produce. In today's world more people are worried about cost than getting the best tools to use. Years ago that just wasn't the case as people always bought the best cooking utensils as they wanted something they could trust to get the job done. their kitchens which might account for why more of these cooking utensils are being cheaply made. That's the only real reason I can come up with. Their was a time when people would proudly display their cooking utensils, but that time has passed to.
Seems like cook books and other things that have to do with the kitchen have slowly faded away from our lives. Cooking utensils will be around for awhile it's just not the kind of cooking utensils we have hoped for. I guess that is what they call progress. I think I'd give back progress to have my old cooking utensils back.
